When someone who was injured in an accident asks if you accept insurance, what do you say?

If the answer is "no", you’re not alone! There are a lot of potential risks, hassles and pitfalls involved in billing insurance companies. It’s also incredibly time consuming and complicated. Not to mention, it takes time and energy away from doing what most LMTs get into the business for in the first place – helping people feel better!

The opportunity being presented here is all about how you can confidently say “YES!” next time, without any of the insurance-billing stress.

Background

Body Well has been providing licensed massage services to Florida residents since 2005. All of our therapists are licensed independent contractors, and are paid pre-determined fees for their massage services. Most services are “outcall” however our therapists can also perform services in any licensed massage establishment. The company is owned by LMT Daniel Melmed, MA 44521.

Over the years we’ve become experts at handling auto and worker’s compensation insurance cases. Mr. Melmed spends most of his time in a (non-massage) office handling the administrative and operational aspects of Body Well, including processing insurance claims and managing finances. Now you can leverage this experience and operational capacity to work on insurance clients with none of the usual hassles. Read below to see if a relationship with Body Well is right for you.

The Opportunity

There are two key points for you to understand up front about this opportunity.

  1. This is an opportunity for you to provide licensed massage services to people with verified insurance benefits through a contracted relationship with Body Well. We are looking for therapists to refer individuals with insurance benefits who are seeking massage therapy (now or any time in the future) to Body Well, which will then pre-qualify and set up the patient, including assigning the therapy to a contracted therapist. If the patient requests you, you will be assigned to the patient and can work on him/her as long as it continues to be medically necessary and benefits are available. To comply with Florida anti patient-brokering and kickback laws, we cannot guarantee that you will be assigned to a patient you have referred unless the patient requests you specifically, or if you are the only qualified, contracted therapist available.

  2. What you are paid for your services is not based on any percentage or tied directly to what we ultimately collect from the insurance company. Splitting medical reimbursement fees in this fashion is illegal. We pay a standard, pre-determined flat fee for services and checks are mailed within 10 business days for all preauthorized and properly documented visits. At this time, a one hour medical massage at a patient’s residence pays $57.50. Any gratuities exchanged are between you and the patient.

Additionally, therapists who prove to be reliable and easy to work with will be eligible for other assignments with Body Well, including in-home massage on a cash basis, chair massage jobs, and more.
