Accept Insurance as a Massage Therapist

When someone who was injured in an accident asks if you accept insurance for massage, what do you say? If the answer is "no", you’re not alone! There are a lot of potential risks, hassles and pitfalls involved in billing insurance companies. It’s also incredibly time consuming and complicated. Not to mention, it takes time and energy away from doing what most LMTs get into the business for in the first place...helping people feel better!

Body Well has developed EZ Insurance Massage - an amazing massage insurance billing alternative exclusively for Licensed Massage Therapists, allowing you to confidently say "Yes!" next time, without any of the massage insurance billing stress OR worries about getting paid. That's right - our program allows you to accept insurance clients without any insurance company hassles or paperwork (except SOAP notes) and guarantees you a set payment for each and every massage within 10 business days.

Keep in mind this only pertains to injuries and those who have benefits available either through auto insurance (PIP, Medpay) or workers compensation (local, state, federal or private liability).

Case Study

"Tom" is an LMT who has been working with Body Well for several years as an on-call therapist. He has had a private cash client "Jill" whom he has visited regularly every few weeks. One day Jill informed Tom that she had been injured in a car accident, and asked if he could provide any massage through her car insurance. Tom is too busy between studying to become a Physical Therapist and working with his other clients to be bothered with the complications of trying to bill an insurance company. So he called Body Well and asked if we could help. Owner Dan Melmed (also an LMT) explained to Tom what information we would need to get started, and emailed him a few forms for Jill to sign. Once we had Jill's prescription, Tom was authorized to start sheduling massages directly with Jill right away, and was guaranteed payment for each massage within 10 business days. Tom has been seeing Jill every week for the past few months, and can continue to do so as long as her prescription is current and benefits remain available through her insurance. The only paperwork he deals with are the SOAP notes he faxes in after each session. It's really as easy as that!

Background

Body Well has been providing licensed massage services to Florida residents since 2005. All of our therapists are licensed independent contractors, and are paid pre-determined fees for their massage services. Most services are "outcall" however our therapists can also perform services in any licensed massage establishment. The company is owned by LMT Daniel Melmed, MA 44521.

Over the years we’ve become experts at handling auto and worker’s compensation insurance cases. Mr. Melmed spends most of his time in a (non-massage) office handling the administrative and operational aspects of Body Well, including processing insurance claims and managing finances. Now you can leverage this experience and operational capacity to work on insurance clients with none of the usual hassles. Read below to see if a relationship with Body Well is right for you.

The Opportunity

This is an opportunity for you to provide licensed massage services to people with verified insurance benefits through a contracted relationship with Body Well. We are looking for therapists to refer injury patients with current insurance benefits who are seeking massage therapy (now or any time in the future) to Body Well, which will then pre-qualify and set up the patient, including assigning the therapy to a contracted licensed therapist. As long as the patient requests you, you will be assigned.

Therapy can take place in a client's home or in any Licensed Massage Establishment.

Additionally, therapists who prove to be reliable and easy to work with will be eligible, if interested, for other assignments with Body Well, including in-home massage on a cash basis, chair massage jobs, and more.

There are many important details as to how this works, including compliance with state and federal laws relative to medical services. To better understand the program please visit EZ Insurance Massage and explore the information provided throughout the site.
