Chair Massage for Administrative Professionals Day

Oct 11, 2008 | Chair Massage, Founders Blog, General Massage Topics

Administrative Professional’s Day is just around the corner, so it’s time to start thinking about ways to show hard working employees some appreciation.

Sure, everyone loves free food, but what about something that is not only good for the staff’s health, but also has to potential to increase their productivity and job satisfaction?

In recent years, having a Licensed Massage Therapist come to the office equipped with a massage chair to give 10 to 15 minute mini-massages has become more and more popular.

Even those individuals who might be too shy to try a traditional spa-type full body massage are usually quite comfortable hopping onto a massage chair to relax for a few minutes.

This kind of massage is also effective in working out neck and shoulder kinks that are quite common in workers hunched over a computer desk all day.

As a massage therapist who has been to numerous offices to perform this kind of service over the years, it has always been such a pleasure to see what a difference just a few minutes of chair massage can make in someone’s day.

I always try to encourage employees to take whatever stress is their mind, whether it be work or personal, and put it on the back burner for just a bit so they can relax and enjoy the moment.

Even though 10 minutes comes and goes all too quickly, it’s still enough to significantly relax both body and mind, and can put a smile on anyone’s face.

The only thing you’ll need to do to prepare for your office chair massage is set aside a quiet area without extra foot traffic (an empty office is perfect) so that distractions are at a minimum and there is at least some semblance of privacy.

You may want to add some extra touches such as lighting some scented candles and requesting that the therapist(s) brings some relaxing music to create a peaceful atmosphere.

Chair massage at an office (or any workplace) performed with regularity has been shown to increase worker productivity and reduce total sick days as well. It also promotes a healthy lifestyle which can lower health care costs and insurance premiums.

So not only do employees love it as a special treat, but seated massage can also be helpful to the bottom line.

Let’s be honest: who’s going to remember a sandwich or donuts?

If you’re looking for a different way to treat your hardworking staff, try chair massages for Administrative Professional’s Day (or any time). Just be sure to hire a licensed and reputable professional or massage service.
