Frequently Asked Questions for chair massage

How many chair massage therapists should I reserve?

We typically massage on an average of 4-5 people per hour, per therapist. This allows for a solid 10 minutes of hands-on time per person, and a few minutes in between for the therapist to “take a breath” and prepare the chair for the next person.

If you have more than 15 people or a limited amount of time we can schedule two or more chair massage therapists to work simultaneously. We can also do as little as 5 minutes per person if you have a large number of people and/or want to control the total cost.

 Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I injured my back on the job as a nurse in 1995.  After 31 years, 7 back surgeries, double rods from T-8 down to S-1, and a great deal of pain, we found a regimen that kept my pain at least bearable and regular massage therapy was a major component of it.  The problem was and still is that most RMTs do not take insurance at all, much less Work Comp.  The company coordinates services with RMTs in exchange for the services of Mobile Massage in doing all the insurance paperwork and maintaining all the requirements of the care plan.  The RMTs get a reasonable percentage of the fees and do not have to deal with the hiring of a staff to do it for them. Mobile Massage has a knowledgeable and very capable Coordinator in Garnet, who is very good at keeping everything current and meeting all the insurance requirements up to date.  I feel very glad that I had the opportunity to use their services.  I have also been blessed with wonderful Massage Therapists in Kingsland, Waco, and now in San Angelo in West Texas.  In each instance, Garnet worked tirelessly to find a new RMT in each of the areas of Texas that would be willing and capable of doing the Therapy and working with Insurance.  I would not have been able to afford the integral Therapy that helped keep my pain tolerable if it were not for Mobile Massage and I, for one, am eternally grateful, especially for Garnet.  She is a gem and makes the concept work.

For chair massage

How far in advance do I need to reserve my chair massage therapist(s)?

Body Well can often accommodate bookings on the same day, however, more notice is preferred, especially when more than one therapist is required for your job.

For jobs requiring three or more therapists, please allow several days to a week if possible.

How do your fees and pricing work?

We generally perform services that are billed on an hourly basis, per therapist.

(For questions about chair massage rates please visit our chair massage fees page). The client ordering the services is responsible for compensating us directly for the full amount of the services delivered. We do not offer per-minute pricing or direct employee-pay.

However, if the client wishes to have those receiving the massage pay some amount for their service, we can help devise a simple cost-sharing plan. Please visit this page to learn more about this money-saving option.

We have some flexibility in terms of how payment is received (i.e. credit card, invoice, ACH, etc.), however in most cases we require a down payment to secure a reservation.

What do I need to do to prepare?

You’ll need to choose an area and designate a clear space at least 5’ x 5’ per therapist where people can take turns on the massage chair.

You can schedule time slots in advance, or, depending on the kind of event, people can randomly take turns. When scheduling in advance, we recommend doing 15 minute blocks for each 10 minute massage to ensure that we are able to stay on schedule.

Our therapist will bring everything that is required to perform chair massage for the number of people you have estimated for us.

You may provide your own ambience such as music and candles if you like, or you may request that we provide this for you. (An additional fee may be incurred based on the extent of your request).

Do the therapists need breaks?

This depends on the total amount of time each therapist is working, and how busy they are.

Assuming the therapist is working non-stop (one person after another), most can go a few hours without a significant break away from the chair. After two hours or so, assuming there is at least another hour or more to go, a 10 or 15 minute break should be factored in.

If the therapist has down time between clients, an extended break is generally not necessary.

Who are the chair massage therapists you work with?

Our therapists meet all the legal requirements within their jurisdiction to perform chair massage and/or seated acupressure, and possess personal liability insurance.

The selection process for our LMTs who provide chair massage services is another frequently asked question. They undergo a rigorous screening process, which includes both an oral and practical interview, in order for us to evaluate their character and skill level.

Our licensed therapists will show up to your event wearing a black Body Well t-shirt and black or khaki pants unless you have specified otherwise.

What about tipping?

We include a standard 15% or $20 per therapist gratuity (whichever is greater) per day, regardless of the number of hours.

You are welcome to add to this if you wish, either as part of your invoice or in cash.

Can we do this on a regular schedule, such as weekly or monthly? Do you offer service contracts?

Certainly. If you wish to use our chair massage services on a regular basis, we may be able to discount your fees more than usual. Another option is an ongoing service agreement.

Where there is a high volume, deeper discounts may be possible. Just call to speak with a specialist about your needs. Another great thing about working with Body Well is that you can always try another therapist!

Some people find one massage therapist they love, and stick with them forever. Others like to try different therapists from time to time. With Body Well, you have all the options; we are here to be of service to you.
